Bank statement to P&L for bookkeepers and accountants
EasyEntry turns a client's bank and credit-card statements into a categorized Profit & Loss statement, checked against the totals and balances the statements give, usually in 30–60 seconds. You review the categories, answer the questions the AI asks about unclear rows, and export to QuickBooks, Excel, CSV or PDF.
It suits catch-up work, new-client onboarding and clients who send statements instead of a bank feed.

Work it takes off your desk
- Catch-up bookkeeping. A P&L for the months nobody recorded, built from the statements alone.
- New clients. A first look at a year of revenue and expenses before you set up their books — one P&L per month adds up to a year to date in My P&Ls.
- Statement-only clients. The ones who send PDFs or phone photos instead of giving you access to their bank.
- Year-end and loan requests. A draft P&L to review and adjust before it goes to the client, their lender or their tax return.
Built for review, not blind trust
Name the business and its owners
Each upload can carry the business name and up to five owner names. The AI uses them to tell owner draws, owner contributions and transfers between the client's own accounts apart from income and expenses, and the names are saved with the P&L. The form remembers your last entry, so change it when you switch clients.
Drop in all of the client's statements
Checking, savings and cards, several months at once: they're combined into one P&L, repeated rows from overlapping files are set aside as likely duplicates, and statements printed without a year ask you for one.
Review what the AI did
Every transaction shows its category, a confidence score and a short reason. Unclear rows come back as questions, and a file that didn't reconcile shows exactly which totals didn't match before you can go on.
Export to the client's books
Download QuickBooks files, an Excel workbook with every transaction, a CSV or a print-ready PDF. Unverified and draft P&Ls carry that warning onto their Excel, CSV and PDF exports, so nobody mistakes a draft for a final.
Exports for QuickBooks and spreadsheets
Pick the file that matches how the client's books are kept.
| File | For | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
| .iif | QuickBooks Desktop | Double-sided entries with EasyEntry's categories as accounts, against a bank account named EasyEntry Import; Cost of Goods Sold as a COGS account; transfers to an equity account so they stay off the P&L |
| .qbo (Web Connect) | QuickBooks Online and Desktop | The transactions as a bank-feed import; you categorize them in QuickBooks |
| 4-column CSV | QuickBooks Online bank upload | Date, Description, Credit and Debit columns |
| Excel (.xlsx) | Any spreadsheet | A P&L summary sheet, and a transactions sheet with date, description, amount, category and confidence |
| CSV and PDF | Clients, lenders, your own files | The P&L as a CSV, or the review screen printed as a P&L document |

What EasyEntry is, and isn't
- It builds P&Ls from statements. It isn't a general ledger: balance sheets, accrual adjustments and reconciliation to the client's books stay with you.
- One email address is one account, with all its P&Ls in My P&Ls, each with the business name you entered. There are no client workspaces, team seats or client logins.
- A page is one generated P&L, however many statements it combines — up to 1,000 transactions per P&L. Answering the AI's questions doesn't use another page for the first five rounds.
- Pro gives 75 pages a month for $199 ($2,149 billed yearly). For more, Business plans with custom volume are priced on request.
Questions from bookkeepers
Can I keep P&Ls for several clients in one account?
Yes. Every P&L is saved in My P&Ls with the business name you entered, and you can rename it. There are no separate client workspaces or team logins: one email address is one account.
Can clients see their P&L in EasyEntry?
No — there's no client sharing. Export the P&L as PDF, Excel or CSV and send it the way you usually do.
Does the .iif file keep EasyEntry's categories in QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes. Each transaction is written as a double-sided entry against an account named after its EasyEntry category, and the file lists those accounts so QuickBooks Desktop can create any that are missing. Check the names against the client's chart of accounts before importing.
How many statements fit in one P&L?
Several files — up to 1,000 transactions per P&L, each file up to 10 MB. However many files it combines, a P&L uses one page.
