About EasyEntry

What is EasyEntry?

A web app that turns bank and credit-card statements into a Profit & Loss statement. You upload a CSV, PDF or photo; EasyEntry reads every transaction, checks the reading against the totals and balances the statement gives, sorts transactions into standard P&L categories, asks about the ones it isn't sure of, and lets you review and export the result.

Does EasyEntry connect to my bank account?

No. It works from statements you download from your bank or card issuer and upload. It never asks for your bank login, and there is no bank feed.

Which languages does EasyEntry support?

English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. The whole app, its messages and the category names are translated; pick a language from the menu at the top of the page.

Statements and accuracy

Which file types can I upload?

CSV or TXT exports, PDF statements (scanned PDFs too) and JPG or PNG photos or screenshots, up to 10 MB per file. Excel workbooks, OFX/QFX files and HEIC photos aren't accepted: export a CSV or PDF, or save the photo as JPG.

Which banks does EasyEntry support?

Any bank or card issuer whose statement you can upload in one of those formats. We test against the CSV export and PDF statement layouts of many US banks, card issuers and payment apps; they're listed on the Supported banks & formats page.

How accurate is EasyEntry?

A PDF or photo is checked against the statement itself: the transactions found must add up to the statement's printed totals within 5 cents, and the balance must run from the opening figure to the closing one. A CSV export is checked against its running-balance column and total rows when it has them. When a check fails, the file is marked not verified and you see what's off. Categories are the AI's judgment, shown with a confidence score, so review them before you rely on the P&L.

What happens when a statement doesn't reconcile?

It's marked not verified, with the issues listed. You can enter or remove rows, then continue once you confirm you've checked them against your statement. The P&L, and its Excel, CSV and PDF exports, then carry an UNVERIFIED warning.

What if a transaction is ambiguous?

The AI asks you a short question instead of guessing. Answer, and those rows are re-categorized — the first five rounds of answers on a P&L don't use another page. Or skip: the AI's best guesses stay, and the P&L is marked as a draft until you pick a category for each.

The P&L

What categories does the P&L use?

26 standard categories: Revenue and Other Income; Cost of Goods Sold; and 23 operating expense categories such as Payroll, Rent, Utilities, Software Subscriptions, Meals & Entertainment, Bank Fees and Taxes. A separate Transfers & Card Payments bucket holds money that moved but was neither income nor expense.

Are transfers, loans and owner draws on the P&L?

No. Credit-card payments, transfers between the business's own accounts, owner draws and contributions, loan and cash-advance proceeds and repayments, refundable deposits and the owner's personal income taxes all go to Transfers & Card Payments, which is kept off the P&L. Adding the business and owner names when you upload helps the AI spot them.

Does EasyEntry calculate cost of goods sold and gross profit?

Yes. Inventory and merchandise for resale, food and beverage supplies, raw materials and packaging go to Cost of Goods Sold, and the P&L shows Gross Profit before operating expenses.

Can I combine several statements into one P&L?

Yes. Drop several files — months, accounts, or a bank account and a card — and they're combined into one P&L that uses one page. Rows repeated across overlapping files are set aside as likely duplicates, and you can keep them. My P&Ls also adds up a year to date from one saved P&L per month.

Can I use an EasyEntry P&L for taxes or a loan application?

It's a P&L built from your statements for you to review — not an audited or accountant-prepared statement. Check it against your statements before you use it for taxes or lending, and ask your accountant or lender what they accept.

Exports

Which export formats are there?

Excel (a P&L summary sheet plus a sheet of every transaction), CSV, a print-ready PDF, and three QuickBooks files: .qbo Web Connect, a 4-column CSV for QuickBooks Online bank upload, and .iif for QuickBooks Desktop.

Does EasyEntry work with QuickBooks?

Through file exports. The .qbo and 4-column CSV files bring the transactions into QuickBooks for you to categorize there; the .iif file for QuickBooks Desktop carries EasyEntry's categories as accounts, with transfers posted to an equity account so they stay off the P&L. EasyEntry isn't affiliated with Intuit.

Pricing and plans

How much does EasyEntry cost?

Your first P&L is free: one trial page, no credit card. After that, Basic is $25 a month for 5 pages, Starter $49 for 15 and Pro $199 for 75; paying yearly saves 10%. Business plans with custom volume are priced on request.

What counts as a page?

Each P&L you generate counts as one page from your monthly quota, however many files it combines.

Do unused pages roll over?

No. Your pages reset each month: at the start of each billing period on a monthly plan, and each month of the paid year on an annual plan. This keeps pricing simple and predictable.

What happens if I exceed my monthly page limit?

New P&Ls pause until your pages reset next month. At a renewal, the new pages arrive once the renewal payment has gone through, normally within a few hours. Unused pages do not roll over.

Can I change plans?

Plans can't be switched. To use a different plan, sign up with a different email address. You can cancel your current plan anytime from Manage billing.

Is there a contract?

No. All plans are month-to-month or annual with no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-compliant.

Privacy

Where do my statements go?

To read and categorize a statement, we send its contents to our AI provider, Anthropic. We don’t keep the files you upload; the P&Ls you generate are saved to your account until you delete them or your account is deleted. We don’t sell your data or train AI on it, and we share it only with the service providers that run EasyEntry, such as AI, hosting, email and payments.

Is my data used to train AI?

No. We don't use your statements or P&Ls to train AI models, and Anthropic's commercial terms don't allow Anthropic to train its models on them either.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. The files you upload are processed in memory and never stored on our servers. To read and categorize a statement, we send its contents to our AI provider, Anthropic (see our Privacy Policy). The generated P&L and categorized transactions are saved to your account so you can access your books anytime — and you can delete any saved report with one click. We use encrypted HTTPS connections and follow privacy-by-design principles.
